Opening: Our nation, which was founded on biblical principles, once thrived, but now has turned into a nation quickly going down the moral drain. We as God’s people have nobody to blame but ourselves! Yes, we have allowed the decay and we should be ashamed. We have a mess on our hands and must begin to clean it up, but first we need to look at ...


1. WHY: Lam. 1:9
a. Sin: We have strayed from the ways of God
b. Self-assurance: We feel as if we are immune from God’s punishment
c. Situation: We are lying in the gutter and our enemy has defeated us


The shape we are in should make us...


2. WEEP: Lam. 1:16 We should feel...
a. Tearful: Because of the things we have done
b. Terrified: Our Comforter is far away
c. Terminate: Our children have no future
d. Torn: Our enemy (Satan) has prevailed over us

3. WANT: Lam. 3:25-26 We should desire:
a. God’s goodness- Thru Christ (wait) God’s redemptive plan took years, but it was perfect
b. God’s guidance- Thru His word (seek) God will show us if we look
c. God’s guarantee- Thru His promise (salvation)


CLOSING: We as God’s people can re-dedicate our lives and serve Him or if you are not a child of God’s you can give your heart to Jesus and we can all cry out to God and He will hear us and once again bless America.
